Troubleshooting (Android)
Login issues
Section titled “Login issues”Can’t sign in — “Invalid credentials” error
Double-check your email and password. Passwords are case-sensitive. If you’re unsure, tap Forgot your password? to reset it.
Biometric login prompt doesn’t appear
Biometric login only appears after you’ve checked Enable biometric login and completed at least one successful password sign-in. Also verify that biometrics are enrolled in Android Settings → Security → Biometrics.
Biometric authentication fails repeatedly
Tap Sign in with password on the biometric screen to fall back to password login. You can re-enable biometrics on the next login screen.
Account says “unconfirmed”
Check your email for the verification message from Grid Getter. Tap the link in that email, then return to the app and tap Confirm existing account.
Tesla connection issues
Section titled “Tesla connection issues”“Reconnect required” banner on dashboard
Your Tesla access token has expired. Tap Reconnect on the banner and complete the Tesla authorization flow. See Tesla Connection.
Authorization fails at Tesla’s website
Sign out of Tesla’s website in your browser, then try the connection flow again from Settings → Integrations.
Data shows dashes (—) everywhere
The app is connected but can’t reach Tesla’s API. Pull down to refresh. If the issue persists, tap Reconnect from the dashboard banner.
Notifications not arriving
Section titled “Notifications not arriving”No push notifications
- Go to Android Settings → Apps → Grid Getter → Notifications.
- Confirm Allow notifications is on.
- Check that the relevant channel (Automation Alerts, System Alerts, etc.) is enabled.
Notifications arrive but for the wrong events
Go to Settings → Notifications in the app and verify which notification types are enabled in your account preferences.
Notifications arrive late or in batches
Android may be throttling background wakeups (battery optimization). Go to Android Settings → Apps → Grid Getter → Battery and set it to Unrestricted.
Data not updating
Section titled “Data not updating”Dashboard shows stale data
Pull down from the top of the Live Dashboard to force a refresh. If the spinner shows but data doesn’t update, your Tesla connection may have expired — look for the reconnect banner.
“Data Refresh Paused” overlay
The app pauses polling when it’s been in the background for a while. Tap Resume Data to restart.
Subscription issues
Section titled “Subscription issues”Purchased a plan but still shows Free
Tap the refresh icon on the Billing & Plan screen. If the plan still doesn’t update, tap Restore Purchases — this re-syncs your Google Play purchases with Grid Getter’s backend.
“Subscription managed externally” message
Your subscription was started on the web (Stripe) or iOS (App Store). Subscription changes must be made on that platform. The Android app shows your current plan but can’t modify it.
Google Play shows a payment error
Open the Google Play Store → Subscriptions and update your payment method there.
App performance
Section titled “App performance”App is slow or crashing
Force-close the app and reopen it. If crashes continue, check for an update in the Play Store — updates contain bug fixes.
Getting an update
Open the Google Play Store, search for Grid Getter, and tap Update if one is available. Automatic updates may be delayed depending on your Play Store settings.
